The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose for a third day, adding 0.8 percent to 347.43.
Rubber Stocks: Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (PHR VN), the country’s biggest listed rubber company, surged 4.3 percent to 26,700 dong. Thong Nhat Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (TNC VN) rose 1.6 percent to 12,500 dong. Saovang Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (SRC VN) rallied 1.7 percent, to 6,100 dong.
Rubber gained to a two-week high amid speculation that China, the world’s largest consumer, may take measures to support economic growth and raw-material demand.
Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure Joint-Stock Co. (PXS VN), rose 2.7 percent to 7,500 dong. The company’s 2011 net profit increased 25 percent to 109.5 billion dong ($5.2 million) from a year earlier, according to a filing on the stock exchange website.
