The VN-30 Index (VN30), a free-float adjusted, market capitalization-weighted index of 30 stocks that have the highest market value and liquidity on the bourse, dropped 1 percent to 480.89.
Dien Quang Joint-Stock Co. (DQC) , a light-bulb maker, dropped for the first time in a week, sliding 4.4 percent to 13,100 dong. The Ho Chi Minh City-based company said pretax profit fell 38.5 percent to 24 billion dong ($1.2 million) in the fourth quarter, according to a filing with the exchange.
Song Da Urban & Industrial Zone Investment & Development Joint-Stock Co. (SJS) , a builder and trader of construction materials known as SUDICO, slumped 4.9 percent, the most since Dec. 20, to 27,100 dong. The company reported a fourth-quarter net loss of 72.4 billion dong on its website.
Construction & Materials Trading Joint-Stock Co. (CNT) dropped for the first time in eight days, sliding 4.6 percent to 10,500 dong. The company had a 1.1 billion dong net loss in the fourth quarter, according to an exchange statement.
