The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 0.3 percent to 465.72, paring this week’s gain to 0.7 percent.
Sugar Stocks: Societe de Bourbon Tay Ninh (SBT VN), Vietnam’s biggest listed sugar company, fell 2.5 percent to 19,200 dong. Bien Hoa Sugar Joint-Stock Co. (BHS) , slumped by the daily limit of 5 percent to 20,900 dong. Ninh Hoa Sugar Joint-Stock Co. (NHS) slid 1.9 percent to 26,500 dong.
Sugar futures fell, extending a slump to a 10-month low, on signs of rising supplies from Asia.
International Development & Investment Corp. (IDI) , which processes and freezes seafood, jumped 4.1 percent to 10,100 dong. The company will pay 2011 dividend of 1,000 dong a share in the third quarter, according to a filing with the bourse.
Lam Dong Mineral & Building Materials Joint-Stock Co. (LBM) , rose 1.2 percent to 8,400 dong. Investor Tran Hung Phuong bought a 5.1 percent stake yesterday, according to a statement on the exchange’s website.
