Vietnam Equity Mover Column: PetroVietnam Fertilizer, Dry Cell

The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, added 0.4 percent to 488.07, the highest close since March 11, 2011.

PetroVietnam Fertilizer & Chemical Joint-Stock Co. (DPM) , the country’s biggest listed fertilizer producer, rose 3.8 percent to 40,800 dong, the highest close since Feb. 17, 2011. The company will pay its shareholders a dividend of 2,500 dong a share on June 11, it said in a statement on the bourse’s website.

Dry Cell & Storage Battery Joint-Stock Co. (PAC VN), a battery maker and garment exporter, increased 4.7 percent to 24,500 dong, the highest close since April 25. The company will pay a 2011 dividend of 1,400 dong a share in June, it said in a statement on the exchange’s website.
