Phan Xuan Anh, general director of Viet Excursions Tourism Company, which welcomed the cruise ships, said that after docking at Chan May Port, the Crystal Symphony cruise ship’s passengers and crew would visit Hue City of Thua Thien Hue Province and Hoi An City of Quang Nam Province, news site VnExpress reported.
With 900 passengers and crew members onboard, the cruise ship will later dock at Hiep Phuoc Port in HCMC. Tourists will come to tourist sites in the city and the Cai Be floating market in the neighboring Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang for three days before leaving the country on February 24.
Crystal Symphony of the U.S. cruise line Crystal Cruises has been voted one of the world’s 10 most luxurious cruise ships by Cruise Lines International Association. The cruise ship mainly brings tourists to destinations in Europe and Asia, including Vietnam’s HCMC and Thua Thien-Hue, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates’ Dubai.
For the Silver Spirit cruise ship with 400 passengers and crew members onboard, some destinations of interest are included in the Thua Thien-Hue tour program. The vessel will leave Vietnam later. On February 18, the ship called at Tien Sa Port in Danang City, and tourists visited the ancient town of Hoi An and the Danang Museum of Cham Sculpture.
Anh said that all 1,300 people onboard the two cruise ships had undergone medical checks.
On February 23 and 24, a high-end Voyager cruise ship with 700 passengers and crew members on board will call at Hiep Phuoc Port.
According to Anh, many cruise ships have canceled their plans to dock at ports in Halong City but will maintain their schedules in southern Vietnam.
