Stock market briefs on Sept 12, 2018

HCMC – The Pan Group Company (PAN) has finished issuing VND1.13 trillion worth of bonds. The five-year debt carries an annual fixed coupon of 6.8% and is guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility, a trust fund of the Asian Development Bank. PAN wants to use the proceeds to invest in the packaged food business.

HCMC – Masan Group (MSN) has decided to sell its entire 109.8 million treasury shares at around VND100,000 each. Transactions will take place within less than 30 days after it gets approval from the State Securities Commission.

HCMC – Pomina Steel Company (POM) plans to issue over 55.8 million shares to pay a 2017 dividend for shareholders at a 10-for-3 ratio. The record date is set on September 24.

HCMC – Dong Phu Rubber Company (DPR) made a gross profit of VND210.6 billion in January-August, which increased 13% year-on-year and beat the full-year target by 11%. DPR’s output grew 10% to 8,343 tons in the period.

HANOI – Hanoi-Hai Duong Beer Company (HAD) will spend an estimated VND32 billion paying an interim dividend of VND8,000 per share for 2017 on the record date of September 21. Currently, HAD has four million outstanding shares. The company will make the payment on October 4. In the first half of this year, HAD earned a net profit of VND3.98 billion from revenue of VND77 billion, down 37% and up 3.7% year-on-year, respectively.

HANOI – Song Hong Corporation (SHG) has passed a plan to issue 18 million shares via private placement, thereby spurring its chartered capital from VND270 billion to VND450 billion. The board of directors will negotiate the selling price with partners. The SHG share price is around VND2,600 per unit on the market for unlisted public enterprises, or UPCoM.

HANOI – Trieu Quang Thuan, chairman and general director of Phu Tho Cement Company (PTE), has registered to buy 500,000 shares of PTE to raise his holding to over 1.1 million shares, or a 9.5% stake. Transactions will be made from now to October 12. Having reached a record high of VND8,100 per share in March, the PTE share price has plunged to around VND1,500 currently.
