A source from Saigontourist said that the Saigon-Phu Tho hotel was designed in a classic French style, covering a total area of 1.4 hectares. The 110-room hotel has two large restaurants serving European, Asian and local cuisines, three conference halls with a capacity of some 1,000 guests, an entertainment zone, a tennis court and an indoor swimming pool.
The VND200-billion hotel is owned by Phu Tho Tourism Service Trading JSC, a joint venture of Saigontourist and HCMC Finance and Investment Company.
Saigontourist’s four-star Saigon-Vinh Long, located along the Co Chien River bank, will open on September 24. The hotel includes 84 rooms and other international-standard facilities. Saigon-Vinh Long hotel can accommodate 1,000 guests.
Saigontourist currently runs a series of four- or five-star hotels nationwide, with a total of 7,550 rooms.
A 2017 annual report on Vietnam’s tourism sector from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism indicated that, as of last year, the country had 25,600 lodging facilities with a total of 508,000 rooms, up a staggering 21.9% against 2016. The room capacity averaged an estimated 56.5%.
Some localities in the coastal region were reported to reach an average room capacity at 70%, while many central provinces and northern localities amounted to 50% and below 50%, respectively.
