· Vietnam Central Bank Asks for Reports on Outstanding Real Estate Loans
The State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank, issued official document No.8641/NHNN-DBTKTT on Nov 4, requesting credit institutions and branches of foreign banks to report their outstanding real estate credits.
· Vietnam Banks Limit Selling Dollars After SBV’s Tough Measures
Some banks were reported to stop selling dollars excusing limited supply, the online newspaper VnExpress (vnexpress.net) reported Nov 4 citing an unnamed forex official of a bank in Dong Da, Hanoi.
· Average Overnight Interbank Interest Rate Hits 10-Day High
The average interbank interest rate for overnight term soared to 13.65% on Nov 2, the highest level since Oct 20, up 0.72% from the previous day and 2.72% from Oct 31, the central bank’s data showed.
· Vietnam Five-Year Bonds Rise Most Since August as Banks May Buy
Vietnam’s bonds rose the most since August on speculation banks will seek the safety of government securities as rising interest rates boost the risk of bad loans. The dong was little changed.

Investors were obviously losing their confidence, Dominic Scriven, CEO of Dragon Capital Group told the local online newspaper Saigon Tiep Thi, saying that the biggest risk was reputation one.
