Macro economy

· Slower Inflation Helps Boost Retail Sale
The country’s retail sales value of goods and services last month increased 1.92 per cent over the previous month to nearly VND167.6 trillion ($8.56 billion), thanks to a continuous deceleration of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), according to GSO.

· Vietnam November CPI Expected to Ease Further: MOF
Vietnam consumer price index is expected to slow down further in November, Price Management Department of Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on its monthly press release.

· Vietnam Runs VND48.42Tln Budget Deficit in Jan-Oct: MOF
Vietnam’s state budget deficit was estimated at VND48.42 trillion in the first 10 months of this year, accounting for 40% of the whole year plan, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

· Vietnam Central Bank Support Bank Liquidity through Conditional Loans
Small banks would gain access to refinancing loans from the State Bank of Vietnam, provided that they committed to reduce their outstanding credits and promptly collect loans that are suspected to be bad debts.

· Vietnam Central Bank Requests Foreign Banks to Strictly Follow Forex Trading Regulations
The State Bank of Vietnam issued official document on Oct 3, requesting CEO (Director) of foreign banks’ branches and 100% foreign banks to strengthen self-checking activities to ensure their compliance to forex and gold trading regulations.

· Vietnam Big Banks Support Liquidity Through Interbank Market
Local large banks such as BIDV, VIetinbank and Agribank supported liquidity for small lenders as they no longer required collaterals on interbank loans, the local online newspaper VnEconomy quoted an unnamed bank CEO, as saying.
