Speaking at a meeting with 16 ministries and ministerial agencies on how to slash business conditions and sub-licenses, Dung said the Prime Minister’s working group which is headed by him would scrutinize each and every ministry to detect any barriers to business created by them.
Earlier, the Government told 11 ministries and agencies to halve the list of products subject to specialized checks, and also cut inspection procedures by half.
Business conditions are included in 237 legal documents – over 3,500 conditions in 243 fields under the management of 13 ministries.
Minister Dung said the reform is crucial to investment attraction and economic growth. His working group will work with each ministry, starting March 15. At least four agencies, including those at grassroots level, will be checked on a monthly basis.
He stressed only Government decrees could contain business conditions.
Tran Dinh Thien, director of the Vietnam Institute of Economics, said the reform has helped boost confidence in the business community, so ministries will have no choice but to cut business conditions and sub-licenses to make life easier for business.
