The VN30 Index sank 6.24 points, or 1.2%, to 513.46. Amongst its 30 members, 6 stocks rallied, 19 plunged and 5 were unmoved.
Fourth largest listed lender Sacombank (STB), the most active stock on a trade of 2.25 million shares, shed 2.76% to end at VND24,700.
Sao Mai Construction Corporation (ASM), coming second in liquidity with 2.06 million shares changed hands, slumped 4.74% to settle at VND18,100.
Hoang Quan Consulting Trading Service Real Estate Corporation (HQC) slid 4.76% to finish at VND6,000 on a trade of 2.05 million units – the third most active.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange the HNX-Index fell to a six-week low, , lossing 1.4 points, or 1.81%, to end at 76.15. Market volume was down 23% from a day earlier to 50.8 million shares worth VND545 billion, down 16%.
The market breadth was negative on the northern exchange. Among index members, 85 rallied, 201 tumbled, 51 closed unmoved, and 58 were untraded.
VNDirect Securities (VND), the most active on the measure with 3.7 million shares changed hands, dipped 2.44% to end at VND5,600.
Hanoi-based lender Habubank (HBB), coming second in liquidity on a trade of 3.2 million units, shed 1.8% to close at VND5,500 per share.
PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) retreated 2.91% to settle at VND10,000 on a trade of 3 million shares – the third most active.
