The benchmark VN Index added 2.93 points or 0.68% to 432.32. Volume stood at 46.64 million shares changed hands for VND728.62 billion of which put-through trading contributed 2.7 million shares and VND130.12 billion.
Of note, we saw 1 million VIC shares changed hands at the neutral line of VND101,000 a share, 205,000 SSI shares changed hands at the floor price VND17,100.
Trading pace was slow but volume remained good level, the index stayed in the positive ground with support from BVH, STB, and PVF who hit the ceiling at the morning close.
Blue chips were stronger than the broader market. VN30 added 3.24 points or 0.67% to stand at 489.66. Volume was 15.16 million shares worth of VND318.66 billion.
Market breadth was negative; losers outpaced gainers by 158-96 and 56 stayed unchanged, of which 27 limited up, 41 limited down.
STB continued to outperform whose share prices limited up and 4.1 million shares were changed hands of which foreigners uploaded 3.69 million.
Other bank stocks were mixed, CTG, EIB, MBB closed down, VCB edged up.
Property shares were weak, NTL, SJS, ITC, LCG, KBC were all losers.
Broker shares SBS extended ceiling performance with only 154,300 shares changed hands, SSI closed at the neutral line while HCM rose slightly.
Active players saw the names of STB, MBB, SAM, SSI.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX bucked trend to close down 0.83 point or 1.18% to 69.71. Trading volume stood at 48.89 million shares traded for VND424.1 billion. Market breadth stayed negative with losers outpacing gainers by 216-to-110, 70 unchanged, of which 29 hit the ceiling while 35 fell to the floor.
Of note, nearly17.3 million HBB shares were changed hands today, but share price hit the floor currently,
HSB, VND, KLS, VCG were all active players and they closed mixed.
