- HCMC: February Credit Growth +2.6%; Total Deposits +11.1% Y-o-Y
Total outstanding loans in Ho Chi Minh City, as at end-February, 2012, were estimated at VND755.6 trillion, up 0.7% on month, soaring 2.6% on year and rising 0.2% from the end of last year, the municipal General Statistics Office’s data showed.
- Industrial Production Slows to 3.9%
The national industrial production growth rate decreased to only 3.9 percent in the first two months of the year against 12.3 percent in 2011 due to economic slowdown, according to the General Statistics Office.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on February 27 issued Circular No. 02, stipulating that credit institutions and branches of foreign banks must satisfy three conditions to be entitled to set up forex trading relationship with the central bank.
