Lam Dong exports macadamia nuts to RoK, Singapore

According to director of the company, Do Dinh Dung, the firm has provided to the market 25 tonnes of the nut, 40 per cent of which were exported to the RoK and Singapore, and the rest to domestic consumers.

The processed products of the company include dried macadamia and macadamia nuts, and macadamia candy, he said.

Fresh macadamia nuts are processed with advanced technology, with product quality meeting export standards, said Dung.

The official revealed that the company purchases material macadamia from local farmers, with about 50 tonnes of fresh macadamia collected so far this year.

Dung said that currently, the company has coordinated with about 100 local farmer households who grow about 140 hectares of macadamia. However, materials from the locality have met only 70 per cent of the factory’s capacity.

In the future, the company plans to continue expanding its partnership with more local farmers in order to have enough material for production, serving domestic and foreign markets, he added.
