The benchmark VN Index added 5.37 points or 1.27% to 426.39. Volume fell 36.2% to 91.5 million shares worth of VND1.75 trillion, however, the cash market volume was still at low level.
Put-through trading contributed 48.5 million shares worth VND1.19 trillion. Of note, we saw super-large volume deals in the put through today including 44.9 million STB shares changed hands at VND25,000 each. Other big put-through deal was 1.37 million HAG shares changed hands at the price of VND27,700 each .
The market breadth was broadly positive on the primary bourse where 196 stocks advanced, 68 declined, 44 closed unchanged.
The VN30 Index rose 6.09 points, or 1.22%, to 504.11. Amongst its 30 members, 25 stock rallied, 5 lost.
The market opened in the green with 1.9 million shares changed hands, caution remained high. The trading pace was slow, however, demand was steady which helped keep the market heat.
Market resumed the afternoon session with stronger demand and share prices went up steadily. Though the market closed off the high, it was clear that sentiment improved.
Buying was seen focusing on high beta shares including mineral and property stocks. Pennies were more active.
Sacombank s Securities (SBS), the most active stock on a trade of 2.1 million shares, rose 2.77% to end at VND5,500.
Licogi 16 (LCG) – a construction firm, coming second in liquidity with 2 million shares changed hands, soared 4.5% to settle at VND11,600.
Ocean Group (OGC) – a multi-business company – jumped 5% to finish at VND12,600 on a trade of 1.85 million shares – the third most active.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX climbed up 0.2 point or 0.27% to 73.78. Trading volume fell 3.8% to 36.1 million shares worth VND349.6 billion.
The market breadth was positive where 152 rallied, 76 declined, 69 closed unmoved.
VNDIRECT Securities Corporation (VND) was the most active stock with 3 million shares changed hands, closing up 0.86% at VND11,700 each.
Sacomreal (SCR) ranked second in volume with 2.7 million shares traded, closing up 1.38% to VND14,700 each.
Hanoi Building Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HBB) came third with 2.5 million shares traded, closing unchanged at VND5,100 each.
