• Vietnam Credit Growth +10.9%, Deposit +9.89% YoY in 2011
  Total outstanding loans of the whole banking system as of December 21, 2011 were estimated to climb by 0.77% on-month and up 10.9% from end-2010.

• Vietnam Banks To Restrain Credit Growth Amid Bad Debt Worries
  Many banks in Vietnam say dealing with bad debts rather than credit growth is going to be a priority task for 2012.

• SOEs Restructuring Plan to Be Approved within Jan/2012: Vietnam Gov
  Vietnam Government on January 17 issued Directive No.03, which specified that the plan to reorganize, restructure and equitize state-owned enterprises (SOEs) will be approved within January, 2012.

• Interbank Trading Dong -20%, Dollar -18% in Week Ending Jan 6, 2012
  The total interbank trading value of the dong slipped 20% to VND203.09 trillion from VND258.014 trillion in the week ending Jan 6, 2012 while that of the dollar declined 18% to VND97.11 trillion from VND118.974 trillion.

  Vietnam plans to merge its two stock exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi as part of plans to restructure its securities market, the Dow Jones news agency cited state news media as saying Tuesday.
