The lowest fee is VND35,000 per trip while the highest fee stands at VND180,000 per trip.
The ministry asked the firm to collect toll fees in line with prevailing regulations, while ensuring traffic safety. Further, the company must publicize information on service prices and all types of tickets.
Besides this, the investor is responsible for paying VND 7.8 billion in resettlement for residents being relocated to make room for the expressway. If the firm fails to make the payment, the Ministry of Transport will suspend its toll collection.
Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Expressway, which is 25 kilometers long, costs over VND2.7 trillion under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) investment format, as part of the project to construct Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh road and upgrade the National Highway 6 Xuan Mai-Hoa Binh section.
To recoup the investment in the expressway connecting the capital city of Hanoi with the northern province of Hoa Binh, toll collection is expected to last 27 years, six months and nine days.
Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Expressway, which was opened to traffic on October 10, 2018, is expected to create a transportation corridor linking the northwestern region with Hanoi, thus bolstering local socioeconomic development.
