With this technology, the robot will drill into the underground sewers without having to dig up the road surface during rehabilitation works. Accordingly, the project is expected to reduce risks of road subsidence and traffic congestion at the city center.
Following the assessment of aging and deteriorating sewers along streets in District 1 and 3, some 2.7 kilometers of sewer lines were selected for renovation.
The project requires more than VND467 billion in funding, with nearly VND400 billion of nonrefundable aid from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Frequent flooding and traffic congestion have long plagued the city. Once completed, the project is expected to address these issues.
