German firms at the conference sought opportunities to export tools and technologies to Viet Nam for several industries, such as mechanics, automobile manufacturing, aviation industry and medical equipment.
Viet Nam has experienced increasing demand for modern machinery and production technologies, experts said at the conference.
According to Marko Walde of the Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Viet Nam, the strong development of the Vietnamese economy coupled with rapid international integration made Viet Nam a potential market for German firms.
The Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Viet Nam wanted to connect businesses from both sides and help Vietnamese firms approach the latest technology solutions from Germany, which would help the country improve labour productivity, product and service quality, and competitiveness, he said.
Several Vietnamese firms at the conference said that they were well aware of the importance of investments in advanced technologies and machine tools, adding that those from Germany were of good quality and appropriate for Viet Nam.
Viet Nam’s machinery imports from Germany saw an increase of 215 per cent in 2018 over 2017.
