As part of their newly-signed global framework contract, the two companies also planned to explore additional areas in digital transformation, including smart brewery, cloud migration to Azure, Open API platform, data strategy and analytics.
The cooperation between FPT and Carlsberg began in January 2018. After a number of months of collaboration, FPT has played the role of digital transformation partner for Carlsberg in many projects related to Manufacturing Execution System (MES); AI for Planning and Connected Bar.
With MES, FPT has improved the company’s experience in delivering projects on digital monitoring and controlling systems, helping Carlsberg optimize its manufacturing process and maximize production output.
FPT was chosen to carry out this project because of its proven technology capability and strong global presence, especially in Asia.
Carlsberg has been planning to roll out MES in 14 factories worldwide in the near future. In addition to MES, FPT is going to leverage the company’s expertise in Artificial Intelligence to help Carlsberg analyze consumer behavior, predict demand and plan for production.
The collaboration between FPT and Carlsberg in digital transformation was also expanded to include Connected Bar, which is considered to be the “game changer” of Carlsberg.
The connected bars, enabled by smart censors, not only allow the brewer to ensure the quality of their products, but at the same time monitor consumption, leading to an effective supply management system.
Cees’t Hart, CEO of Carlsberg Group, said at the signing ceremony, “We are excited about entering into this partnership with FPT. Their support to help us digitize our breweries brings us closer to realizing our sustainability goals, as well as improving productivity.”
Truong Gia Binh, FPT’s Chairman, said that his firm strives to enhance its technology capabilities to offer more value-added services to its clients. Between 2018 and 2020, the firm sets a target to grow its revenues from digital services by 70% per year in an attempt to become a world-class digital transformation service provider.
