The benchmark VN Index lost 2.01 points, or 0.5% to end at 399.71 today. Volume tumbled 51.97% to 32.92 million shares worth VND427.1 billion, including 4.29 million shares worth of VND71.74 billion changed hands in the put-through deals.
VN Index opened in the green with 1.5 million shares traded. Trading slowed down as buyers were cautious when selling pressure rose, sending the VN Index into the negative ground. The buying interest focusing on some blue chips could only push the index half way back from the low.
VN Index lost first time in 7 sessions, and analysts see it as a predictable and healthy one.
Today VN30, – the gauge of 30 stocks that account for about 80% of total capitalization and 60% of transaction value of the market, was launched, but two of these heavy weighs MSN and CTG fell to the floor. The index started from 449.41, losing 1.94 points or -0.43% to 447.47.
Some of the blue chips were still strong including HPG, ITA, PVF,KBC, STB, VIC while others including SSI, REE, VCB, VNM, HAG, DPM, MBB were losers. Among top 10 market cap, 2 gained, 5 lost and 3 unchchanged.
Market breadth was negative, among 306 listed firms on HOSE, losers outweighed gainers by 140-77 and 63 stocks unchanged and the rest untraded.
Becamex Infrastructure Development JSC. (IJC) suddenly gained the most active position with 2 million units, closing up 4% to end at VND10,300.
Tan Tao Investment – Industry Corporation (ITA) was the second most active one with 1.7 million shares traded, closing up 3.9% at VND8,000.
Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank or Sacombank (STB) ranked third with 1.6 million shares changed hands, closing up 2.1% to VND19,100.
Ocean Group (OGC) was in the forth place with 1.3 million shares traded, closing up 4.7% to VND9,000.
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBB) came fifth with 1.2 million shares traded, closing down 2.3% to VND12,500.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the market corrected for second day, the HNX-Index fell 0.36 point or 0.58% to 61.49. Trading volume fell 75.92% to 34.77 million shares traded for VND285.1 billion of which 1.86 million shares worth VND13.93 billion were changed hands in put-through deals.
Market breadth turned negative, 55 rallied, 193 tumbled, 49 closed unmoved, and 96 were untraded.
VNDirect Securities (VND), the most active on the measure with 4.4 million shares changed hands, losing 2.6% to end at VND7,600.
PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVX), coming second in liquidity on a trade of 4.1 million units, closed down 4.7% to close at VND8,200 per share.
Kim Long Securities JSC (KLS) fell 4.3% to settle at VND9,000 on a trade of 3 million shares – the third most active.
