VN Index opened in the green with 1 million shares traded. The trading was more active in the continuous session and more share prices hit ceiling on local buying. Market closed at the high of the day.
Market breadth was positive, among 306 listed firms on HOSE, gainers outweighed losers by 220-42 and 28 stocks unchanged and the rest untraded. As many as 131 stocks hit ceiling while 19 issues fell to the floor, 5% each side.
Among top 10 market caps, 6 rose (VIC, HAG, VPL, CTG, EIB, VCB, BVH),2 fell (STB, MSN) and 2 unchanged (EIB, VPL).
Fundamental analysts said they are still cautious as market rally is based on the hopes for rate cut, no fundamental changes have seen and macro conditions have not yet improved.
Speculative stocks such as securities, property led the market gain today.
Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) led the market in volume with 1.9 million shares traded, closing up 4.9% to VND17,300. This market leading issue led the securities shares to rise today, trading volume also soared versus previous trading sessions.
Ocean Group JSC. (OGC) was second most active stock with 1.6 million shares trade, closing up 4.4% to VND9,400.
Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) ranked third with 1.4 million shares traded, closing up 3.5% to VND11,800.
Tan Tao Investment – Industry Corporation (ITA) came forth with 1.3 million shares traded, closing up 4.1% to VND7,600.
Vinh Son – Song Hinh Hydropower Jsc. (VSH) was in the fifth place with 1.2 million shares traded, closing up 0.9% to VND11,100.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX closed up 1.79 points or 2.9% to 63.47. Trading volume rose 81.7.% to 43.1 million shares traded for VND391.3 billion of which 3.3 million shares worth VND26.8 billion were changed hands in put-through deals.
Market breadth was positive with 242 gainers, 49 losers and 29 flat issues and 73 untraded. Among top 10 market caps, 9 gained, 1 unchanged.
High liquid and speculative shares KLS, VND, PVX, were all gainers.
Kim Long Securities JSC (KLS) was the most active stock with 6.4 million shares changed hands, closing up 5.9% to VND10,700.
VNDIRECT Securities Corporation (VND) came second with 3.1 million shares traded, closing up 5.9% to VND10,800 on average.
PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVX) ranked third in the list with 3 million shares traded, closing up 5.8% to VND9,100 on average.
