Vietnamese stocks closed mixed today as profit taking pressure sent the HNX index down but buying into selective stocks buoyed the primary bourse HOSE.

The UPCoM-Index, the measure of 130 unlisted public companies closed up on Tuesday following the primary bourse HOSE. Liquidity improved.

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 2:15 p.m. local-time close in Ho Chi Minh City.

Foreigners changed to be net buyers on both HOSE and HNX on Tuesday. Level of participation increased.

Vietnamese stocks closed mixed today as profit taking pressure sent the HNX index down but blue chips buoyed the primary bourse HOSE.

Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) continued to top brokers on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange(HOSE), Vietnam’s primary stock exchange, in the first quarter of this year with 11.74% of the brokerage market share.

The total net asset value (NAV) of 17 foreign investment funds in Vietnam rose 16.2% YTD to $2.4 billion in the first quarter of 2012, said LCF Rothschild in a report dated April 3, 2012.

Inflation in April is expected to rise by a one-month rate of as much as 0.5 per cent, representing an increase over last month's very gradual increase in the consumer price index of just 0.16 per cent.

Vietnamese stocks closed up this morning but the index was still shy of the threshold 450, both buyers and sellers were really patient.
