The benchmark VN Index gained 2.1 points or 0.46% to 449.54. Volume stood at 48.6 million shares worth of VND644.1 billion. Put-through trading contributed 2.1 million shares worth VND39.34 billion.
We saw FPT, EIB, REE, CTI shares were changed hands at the ceiling prices in the arranged deals while FDC, GTT, LSS, RDP shares were sold at the floor prices.
VN30 was still stronger than the broader market, adding 3.57 points or 0.7% to close at 515.08. Volume was 15.7 million shares changed hands for VND283.24 billion.
Market opened the morning session in the green with 3.3 million shares changed hands as buying interes from last week expanded. However, profit takers were also ready to sell at high prices.
Securities stocks were strong, SSI, HCM, SBS all posted gains. Property shares were also strong, DIC, DIG, NTL, ITA, ITC, LCG HAG, KBC, SJS were all gainers.
Banking stocks were mixed and weaker than the broader market, CTG, EIB, STB, MBB gained while VCB stayed at the neutral line.
Heavy weighs BVH stayed unchanged, MSN edged up, VIC fell. Pennies looked stronger and some hit the ceiling including SAM, NTB, DIG.
Most active players were SAM with 3.4 million shares; REE with 2.1 million shares, LCG with 1.8 million shares, all limited up. Of note, REE share prices hit the ceiling after the news that a major shareholder.
Market breadth was positive with 143 gainers, 67 losers, and 100 stayed unchanged.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX gained 0.76 point or 1.02% to 75.45. Trading volume was 39.4 million shares worth of VND407.76 billion.
Market breadth was negative with 143 gainers, 175 losers, 78 unchanged of which 22 hit ceiling prices and 24 fell to the floor.
Most active players were HBB with 4.8 million shares, SCR with 3.2 billion shares, and PVX with 2.9 million.
