• Vietnam’s April CPI to Slow Down Below +0.1%: Minister
  Vietnam consumer price index (CPI) in April will slow down to 0.1% at the highest level, Bui Quang Vinh, the Minister of Planning and Investment said at the National Assembly Standing Committee’s meeting this morning.

• Hanoi’s April CPI Drops -0.03%: GSO
  Hanoi consumer price index (CPI) was estimated to have dropped by -0.03% on-month in April 2012, driven by sharp fall in prices of food and food stuff, the municipal General Statistics Office (GSO) said.

• Hanoi Runs $1.32Bln Trade Deficit in April 2012
  Hanoi is estimated to run a trade deficit of $1.325 billion in April 2012, the municipal’s statistics office said in its report on Hanoi’s socio-economic situation in April and the first 4 months of this year.

• Hanoi’s Industrial Production Index Rises 1.2% in April 2012
  Hanoi’s April industrial production index rises by 1.2% on month and up 2.85% on year, the municipal’s statistics office said in its report on Hanoi’s socio-economic situation in April and the first 4 months of this year.

• Vietnam Forex Reserve Rises to 9 Weeks of Import: Government
  Vietnam’s foreign currency reserves rose to the equivalent 9 weeks of imports from about 7.5 weeks as of mid-2011, the local newswire NDHMoney.vn reported, citing the government’s latest report to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

• Vietnam 2011 Credit Growth at 14.41%: Updated Data
  Total lending of the whole banking sector grew an estimated 14.41% last year from 2010.

• Vietnam Central Bank Buys $6.23Bln in Q1/2012: VCSC
  The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has spent VND130 trillion to purchase $6.23 billion in the first quarter of this year.
