- Vietnam Runs $224Mln Trade Surplus in Q1/2012: Customs
Vietnam is estimated to have run $224 million trade surplus in the Q1/2012, the General Department of Vietnam Customs said.

Total outstanding loans of the whole banking system as of March 26, 2012 were estimated to decline by 1.96% from end-2011 while total deposits rose by 1.39% from late last year, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) said on a statement released Tuesday.

Vietnam has become the world’s largest woodchip exporter with 5.4 million tons exported in 2011, up 5 million tons compared to the humble start in 2001, according to Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association (VPPA).
