• Vietnam’s YoY CPI May Hit Single Digit In May 2012: Experts
  Vietnam’s year on year consumer price index (CPI) may hit single digit in May 2012, the general statistics office and some optimistic experts share the view.

• ADB Adjusts Down Vietnam GDP Growth Forecast to 5.7% in 2012
  The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has again adjusted down Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast to 5.7% in 2012 from previous forecasts of 6.3% and 6.5% last year.

• Vietnam Cuts Key Rates For 2nd Time In A Month
  Vietnam will slash two key interest rates Wednesday, the central bank said, the second cuts in a month aimed at countering slowing growth as double-digit inflation continues to ease.

• Foreign Investment Up In Feed Industry
  Foreign invested firms have been pouring money into and expanding animal feed production, according to the Vietnam Animal Feed Association.

• Bad Debts Rise to 3.6% in Q1/2012: Governor
  Bad debts in the domestic banking sector rose to 3.6% of the total outstanding loans now, versus 3.2% at the beginning of the year, said Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) at a press conference held in Hanoi early today.

• Vietnam Forex Reserve Estimated at $17Bln: ADB
  Vietnam foreign exchange reserve is estimated to rise to $17 billion in the first quarter of the year, up $3.5 billion from mid-2011, Asian Development Bank (ADB) said in a press conference held in Hanoi this morning.

• Vietnam Central Bank Says Bank Liquidity ‘Abundant’
  Local credit institutions currently have ample liquidity, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Nguyen Van Binh, said at a press conference to announce the decision to cut rates this morning.

• Vietnam C.Bank Asks Credit Institutions to Restructure Debt Repayment Period for Businesses
  The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) requires credit institutions to restructure the debt repayment period for local firms which failed to pay off due debts due to the adverse impacts of unfavorable local and global economic conditions.
