44W26: Interbank short rates surge despite SBV net liquidity injection
November 2, 2026
In 44W26, short-term interbank rates surged sharply due to temporary liquidity tightness. To relieve market pressure, the SBV expanded new repo offerings and shifted to a sizable net liquidity injection stance. On the FX front, USDVND edged lower despite a slight appreciation in the global greenback, as upward pressure from persistent foreign equity net selling was overshadowed by elevated VND-USD interest rate differentials.
