42W26: Interbank rates stabilize as SBV injects liquidity
October 19, 2026
In 42W26, the SBV recorded a net injection following two consecutive weeks of heavy liquidity drainage, as new repo offerings exceeded maturities. Consequently, short-term interbank rates moved sideways, even as longer-dated tenors edged slightly higher to align with Q4 credit expansion prospects. On the FX front, the domestic USDVND rate moved sideways, balancing persistent foreign equity net selling against a weakening global dollar, a positive trade surplus, and elevated VND-USD interest rate differentials.
