30W26: Short-term interbank rates extend drop
July 27, 2026
In 30W26, the SBV persisted with its net liquidity extraction via open market operations as banking system liquidity continued to improve. Short-term interbank rates maintained their downward trajectory, signaling easing short-term funding pressures following the implementation of new liquidity ratio regulations, whereas longer maturities remained anchored at higher levels. On the FX front, the domestic USDVND exchange rate advanced for a second straight week, rising 0.13% WoW to 26,324 under the combined pressure of persistent foreign equity selling and a resilient global greenback fueled by Middle East geopolitical risks.
